5th Grade Fall Project

Project is due November 17th

Extra Credit for projects.

Project Presentation and Celebration with Parents:

This is a research project on Native American Indians. You will be researching a Native American tribe from within the United States. This project is in four parts:

Part 1:
- Use the Native American Research rubric to research and find the required information. Take detailed notes as you research. If you have any problems finding your information, you must notify Mrs. Maldonado by Monday, November 9th.

Part 2:
- You must choose a way to share and display your information. You may display information in the form of a PowerPoint (10 slides) OR presentation board (tri-fold).
- Be sure to include at least 10 pictures, drawings, artifacts, OR crafts on your project. You will be using this for your presentation for the class.
- Information should not be copied and pasted from the Internet. All information must be PARAPHASED in the child’s own words.

Part 3:
- Use the Native American presentation rubric as a guide for your presentation. Please practice your presentation at home. Your presentation should be 3-5 minutes long. Anything less or over will result in loss of points.

Part 4:
- Your project will be on display at our Parent Celebration on Thursday, November 19th. If your child would like to present their project on a tablet, iPad or laptop, parents must bring these items in no later than 8:30 am on Thursday, November 19th. Devices and laptops must be fully charged (no cords, please)

You will earn several grades for this project: one for the actual content in your research display/PowerPoint and one for your presentation. They will be entered in your Language and Social Studies grade.
